Ask Your Question?
What sort of PFD safety vest is the key to remaining safe?
Question?

Q: Can I hit you up with a question. Our family is planning on going out with my neighbors this coming Labor Day Weekend. I was concerned about my children's safety and need your help. We are taking a vacation and this will be a Ocean vacation voyage leaving from Fort Lauderdale...Yes, out in the Atlantic. There is a lot of water out there! What sort of safety vest is the key to remaining safe? All right now, that is my particular problem.

All right now, a big thumbs up. Keep pushing forward.

Answer!

A: Come on in, certainly, we will answer this. Let us get right to it. Big fun, big fun...The boating in Broward and Miami-Dade County is just the best. You are sure in for a big treat.

Make sure you buy and have the correct number of PFD's. Buy enough, so everybody gets one!

Don't forget the Type IV PFD, it is the the throwable device. This is the quick toss float to help a person if they fall in.

Be sure each one is United States Coast Guard (USCG) approved. Always look for the United States Coast Guard approval number to be sure.

Know your sizes, as the right size is important for safety.

Teach the young ones well. They need more education and training, so don't skimp on the lessons.

You may as well beat the odds....Take the time to select and wear your PFD!
Why not practice? Yes, you and your children could practice putting on and using the PFD. A wise Florida boater will always test everything until fully comfortable.

Great job on thinking about you and your children's safety. The key to safety is certainly knowledge. So here is a few tidbits on safety vests for you Fort Lauderdale Boaters! First, they are known more specifically as PFD's (Personal Floatation Devices).

Sure hopes that you now have a bit of PFD Buying Knowledge. It maybe time for me to work on tomorrow's florida boating question and answer: Where to Buy PFD's? Alrighty, a correct way to try. Grade A.

All right now, everyone gets better with practice. Meeting goals is our life.
