You do need to plan ahead for poor weather conditions, as tropical islands can change quickly from beautiful weather to storms. Save all the indoor places for when the outdoors is not so appealing. There are so many cool things to do that are out of the weather. A Key Encounter is the perfect place to get a break from the sun. All ages will enjoy learning about the local marine life, fish, sharks, and more. You also need to check out Mel Fisher's Treasures, located about one block to the south.

Daytime things we love in Key West
Come on, when it's raining in Key West you head to the bars and start drinking early. Everybody knows that, it is a tradition. The green parrot bar is a good one for daytime drinking, happy hour, and live music.

More Florida Keys Children and Family Activities
Another cool thing that is very similar is the Turtle Hospital, in Marathon Florida. This is a one-of-a-kind environment and the state of the art and turtle restoration. You get to see it all up close, as they turned this into a cool attraction.
