Such a good time was our trip with Challenger and we have to recommend October as a sweet time of the year to go. Say goodbye to the warmer days of summer and instead enjoy the more moderately temperate days of October. This is when the Keys see a a drop in the average daily mid-day temperatures. No matter when you come down, the fishing here in Islamorada is amazing.

Magic happens in the Florida Keys
One of the things we like to do is target around the Patch Reefs, which are fishing consolidators. Very consistent for year-round bottom fishing action. We are big fans of the Grouper and Yellowtail Snapper, so tasty. Try drifting or very slow trolling to fill the coolers. Of course, the backcountry is the number one consistent winner.
